Justin M. Lee, Chairman & Founder
Justin M. Lee is the founder of Nexsun. Mr. Lee is an entrepreneur who actively serves on the boards of directors of numerous biofuel companies, including Conestoga Energy Partners LLC, Bonanza Bioenergy LLC, Arkalon Energy LLC, Tri-State Biofuels LLC and Nexsun Ethanol LLC. Mr. Lee received a Master of Business Administration and Masters in Accounting from the University of Missouri. He also became a Certified Public Accountant in Missouri. Mr. Lee also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota School of Law. In 1999, Mr. Lee formed the Law Office of Lee & Kent of which he is the senior managing partner. Lee & Kent specializes in business, commercial, international and immigration law and provides strategic legal counsel to Nexsun in its project development and business affairs. Mr. Lee actively participates in community and business affairs and is a member of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Korean Trade Association.
James W. Kim, President
Mr. Kim is the President at Nexsun. He has extensive experience in project development, financing and operations, as well as government policy. Prior to joining Nexsun, he served numerous years as head of international departments at large Korean companies. Mr. Kim obtained his bachelor¡¯s degree in Business and Statistics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Thomas E. Kent, Vice President
Thomas E. Kent is the Executive Vice-President and Ge
neral Counsel at Nexsun. Mr. Kent serves on the Board of directors of numerous bio-fuel companies including Nexsun Ethanol LLC, Northeast Kansas Bioenergy LLC, and Tri-State Biofuels LLC. Mr. Kent has substantial experience handling the legal and business aspects of renewable fuels projects. Mr. Kent obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California Law Center and his Bachelor's degree in Sociology from U.C. Berkeley.
Andrew Wheaton, General Counsel
Andrew Wheaton is Nexsun's General Counsel. Mr. Wheaton received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and his Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from Morehouse College. Mr. Wheaton is admitted to practice law in all California Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, United States District Court, Central District of California and the United States District Court, Northern District of California.
H.D. Park, Chief, Asia Government Relations
H.D. Park is the Chief of Asia Government Relations at Nexsun. Dr. Park has extensive experience in the areas of international affairs and development economics, and has been operating his own consulting service company, Global Management Institute, since 1985. He has previously represented the State Governments of Alabama, Iowa and Florida in Korea, as well as the German State of Niedersachsen. Dr. Park was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Iowa and also was the Distinguished Visiting Professor at Cornell College in Iowa. Previously, Dr. Park was the Director for Executive Leadership Program at the Korea Development Institute (KDI). He was also the Managing Director for Overseas Business Development at Ssangyong Construction Company and served as the Director of Economic Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany. Dr. Park holds a B.S. from St. Andrews College, a MCP from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MPA from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
Rochelle Heussmann, Project Manager
Rochelle Heussmann has over 17 years of renewable energy experience in the ethanol industry. Prior to joining Nexsun, Ms. Heussmann was an independent consultant assisting production facilities in increasing their yield and financial bottom line through training, facility management techniques and fermentation nutrition & optimization. Ms. Heussmann has extensive experience in many aspects of project management, including manufacturing management, laboratory, safety, environmental, training, ISO-9000, insurance, purchasing and inventory, governmental vendor and public relations, fostered and continued partnerships between facilities and communities, colleges and governments. Ms. Heussmann has her Biotechnology degree in Research and Development.
